TaskKidz is a family chore-and-rewards app. We built it to collect as little information as possible, especially about children. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you have — written to be read, not skimmed past.
1 Who we are
TaskKidz is operated by Biddio Pty Ltd, based in Perth, Western Australia. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means Biddio Pty Ltd. If you have any questions, you can reach us at support@taskkidz.com.
2 What we collect
We deliberately keep this list short. Here is everything TaskKidz collects, split by who it relates to.
| About a parent | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create the account, sign in, send password resets and a welcome email. |
| Password | Stored securely (hashed) by our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text. |
| Family & chore data | The tasks you create, rewards you set, and approvals you make. |
| About a child | Why |
|---|---|
| First name | So a parent can tell which chores belong to which child. This is the only personal detail we hold about a child. |
| A PIN | Chosen by the child when joining the family, so they can sign in without needing an email address. A parent can reset a child's PIN at any time. |
| Chore photos | Optional "proof" photos a child takes of a completed chore. See section 5 — these are deleted daily. |
We do not collect:
No location No child email or contact details No date of birth or age No advertising identifiers No device tracking
Children do not provide an email address or any contact information to use TaskKidz. A child signs in with a first name and a PIN set up by their parent.
3 How we use information
- To run the core features: creating chores, tracking completion, and managing rewards.
- To send a parent important account emails — sign-up confirmation, a welcome message, and password resets.
- To send in-app notifications (for example, when a chore needs approval).
- To keep the app secure and diagnose technical problems.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not build advertising profiles of you or your children.
4 Children's privacy (COPPA & family policies)
TaskKidz is designed for families. A child can only join a family with a parent's approval, and their account is managed by the parent from then on. We take the following approach to protect children:
- A child joins a family using a family code shared by their parent, and a parent must approve the child's request to join before the child can participate. No child can be added without explicit parental approval.
- The only personal information tied to a child is their first name. No email, no location, no contact details.
- A parent has full control: they can view, change, or permanently delete their child's data at any time (see section 7).
- We do not knowingly collect more information from a child than is described here, and we do not enable children to publish information publicly or contact strangers.
If you believe we have collected information from a child in a way that concerns you, please contact us at support@taskkidz.com and we will address it promptly.
5 Chore photos are deleted daily
When a child completes a chore, they can optionally take a photo as proof for their parent to review. We treat these photos as temporary:
- Photos are stored privately and are only accessible within the child's own family.
- An automated process deletes all chore photos every day. A photo's maximum lifespan is roughly 24 hours — long enough for a parent to review and approve, then it is permanently removed.
- We do not keep a long-term archive of chore photos.
6 Who we share information with
We don't sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app, and share only what each one needs to do its job:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Our secure database, sign-in, and file storage (backend infrastructure). |
| Expo | Delivers push notifications to devices. |
| Resend | Sends account emails (to parents only — never to children). |
| Sentry | Monitors for technical errors so we can fix them. |
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
7 Deleting your data
You can also remove an individual child, which permanently deletes that child's account and all of their associated data.
When you delete data, we remove it from our active systems. Chore photos, as noted above, are already deleted automatically each day. If you'd prefer, you can also email support@taskkidz.com to request deletion, and we will action it.
8 How we keep data secure
Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and never stored or visible in plain text. Data is protected by access rules so that families can only ever see their own information. Chore photos are held in private storage accessible only within the child's family.
9 Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continued use of TaskKidz after an update means you accept the revised policy.
